Pound chicken breasts to an even thickness
Season chicken with salt and pepper
Set up three bowls: flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs mixed with grated Parmesan
Dredge chicken in flour
Dip chicken in egg
Coat chicken in breadcrumb mixture
Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat
Fry chicken until golden brown on both sides
Transfer chicken to a baking dish
Spoon marinara sauce over each piece
Top with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese
Bake until chicken is cooked through and cheese is melted and bubbly
Garnish with basil if desired
Serve hot with pasta or salad
