Gather ingredients: ramen noodles, water, salt (optional), toppings (optional)
Bring a pot of water to a boil
Add the ramen noodles to the boiling water
Cook until tender, stirring occasionally
Stir in the ramen seasoning packet (or add salt and other seasonings to taste)
Add toppings during the last 1–3 minutes (optional)
Drain if desired, or serve in the broth
Plate and serve immediately
