Wash your hands before handling bottles
Disassemble the bottle, nipple, ring, and any other parts
Rinse each part with clean water
Wash all parts in hot, soapy water
Use a clean bottle brush to scrub bottles and nipples
Rinse thoroughly to remove all soap
Sanitize by boiling in water for 5 minutes
Or sanitize in a steam sterilizer according to the manufacturer’s instructions
Or sanitize in a dishwasher with a sanitizing cycle if the items are dishwasher-safe
Place sanitized items on a clean, unused drying rack or clean towel
Let all parts air-dry completely before reassembling
Store sanitized bottles in a clean, covered container
Sanitize bottles before first use
Sanitize regularly, especially for babies under 3 months, premature babies, or babies with weakened immune systems
