Get at least one piece of raw fish (commonly raw salmon or raw cod)
Find a wild cat in the game
Stand near the cat and hold the raw fish in your hand
Move slowly toward the cat while keeping the fish selected
Right-click (Java) or use (Bedrock) the cat with the fish to feed it
Repeat feeding until hearts appear and the cat becomes tamed
After it’s tamed, the cat will follow you and show a collar
Tamed cats can be equipped with a collar by using dyes on them (if applicable)
