Cut a length of thread and pull it through the eye of the needle
If the thread is frayed, trim the end and re-cut straight
Moisten the thread tip (or use a threader) to help it pass through the eye
Hold the needle steady with one hand
Insert the thread end into the eye opening
Push or pull the thread through until both ends are even
Pull the thread through fully and leave a short tail on both sides
If the thread won’t go through, use a needle threader and repeat
Trim any remaining frayed thread ends once the thread is through
