Fill a pot with enough water to cover the hot dogs
Place the pot on the stove and bring the water to a boil
Add the hot dogs to the boiling water
Reduce the heat to a simmer
Cook for 5 to 7 minutes, or until heated through
Remove the hot dogs with tongs or a slotted spoon
Drain briefly on a paper towel if desired
Serve immediately
