Drink warm fluids (tea, broth)
Sip water frequently

Use saline nasal spray or rinse, especially if mucus is draining from the nose
Blow your nose gently and clear nasal passages
Stay hydrated
Use honey (1–2 teaspoons) in warm water or tea
Avoid irritants (smoke, vaping, strong fragrances, alcohol)
Limit dairy if it seems to worsen symptoms
Avoid lying flat; elevate your head during sleep
If you have reflux symptoms, avoid late meals and spicy/fatty foods
Consider an expectorant (guaifenesin) if appropriate for you
Consider a throat lozenge or throat spray for soothing relief
Seek medical care if symptoms last more than 10–14 days, worsen, or you have fever
Seek urgent care if you have trouble breathing, swallowing, drooling, chest pain, or coughing up blood
