Empty the capsule container and drip tray
Fill the water tank with fresh potable water
Add descaling solution to the tank (use Nespresso-recommended ratio or follow the product instructions)
Place a container large enough to hold the used water under the coffee outlet and, if applicable, the hot water spout
Turn the machine on
Start the descaling program by pressing and holding the appropriate buttons for 3–6 seconds (follow your model’s manual)
When the first phase begins, let it run until the water tank is empty
Rinse the water tank thoroughly
Fill the tank with fresh potable water
Run the rinse cycle by starting the rinse program (or repeating the same button sequence used to start descaling)
Let the rinse cycle run until the tank is empty
Empty and rinse the drip tray and used capsule container
Run one additional cycle with fresh water if your model requires it or if any solution taste remains
Wipe the machine exterior and dry the drip area
