Drink plenty of fluids (water, broth, oral rehydration solution)

Rest

Wear lightweight clothing and keep the room comfortably cool

Take cool (not cold) sponge baths or wipe with lukewarm water

Use a fan or light ventilation if comfortable

Consider fever-reducing medication if needed:

Acetaminophen (paracetamol) as directed on the label

Ibuprofen as directed on the label (avoid if you have stomach ulcers, kidney disease, are dehydrated, or are pregnant unless advised)

Avoid aspirin for children and teens
