Freeze the garment in a plastic bag for 1 to 2 hours
Scrape off the hardened gum with a dull knife or credit card
Apply ice cubes directly to the gum if freezing is not possible
Use a stain remover or liquid laundry detergent on the residue
Rub in a small amount of white vinegar to loosen remaining gum
Soak the area in warm water with laundry detergent
Use rubbing alcohol on stubborn residue
Wash the clothing according to the care label
Check that the gum is fully removed before drying
Repeat the process if needed before putting the item in the dryer
