Place bananas in a paper bag with 1 apple or 1 ripe banana
Fold the top of the paper bag closed and leave at room temperature
Check every 12–24 hours and remove when ripe
Bake: preheat oven to 300°F (150°C), place unpeeled bananas on a baking sheet, bake 15–25 minutes until skins turn dark
Cool after baking, then peel and use immediately
Microwave: microwave peeled bananas 30–60 seconds per banana until softened, then use right away
Use a warm spot: place bananas in a bowl or on a tray at 75–85°F (24–29°C) and turn occasionally
For faster results, keep bananas away from direct sunlight and avoid refrigeration until you’re ready to slow ripening
