Open Instagram
Tap the Messenger icon
Open the chat you want to delete
On iPhone, swipe left on the chat and tap Delete
On Android, press and hold the chat and tap Delete
Confirm Delete
To delete a message for everyone, open the chat, press and hold the message, and tap Unsend
To delete a message only for yourself, use the Delete option if available on your device
To remove an entire conversation from your inbox, delete the chat thread
To archive a chat instead of deleting it, swipe or long-press and choose Archive if available
