Remove the drain cover (unscrew or pry off as needed)
Clear visible hair and debris with tweezers, needle-nose pliers, or a drain grabber
Pour boiling water into the drain if the plumbing allows it
Use a wet/dry vacuum to suction out loosened blockage
Use a plunger designed for drains; seal tightly and plunge firmly 10–20 times
Try a drain snake; feed it slowly until resistance is reached, then rotate to break up the clog
Use a handheld auger if available for deeper clogs
Apply enzyme or bacterial drain cleaner according to label directions; wait the recommended time and flush with hot water
If safe for your plumbing, use a chemical drain cleaner per label directions, then flush with plenty of water
After clearing, run hot water for several minutes to confirm proper drainage
If water backs up or clogs return quickly, check for blockages in the P-trap or nearby plumbing and consider professional help
