Check the printer supports Wi‑Fi or has a Wi‑Fi/Network menu
Turn on the printer and place it within range of your router
Connect your phone/computer to the same Wi‑Fi network you want the printer to use
On the printer, open the Wireless/Wi‑Fi/Network settings menu
Select Wi‑Fi Setup or Wireless Setup Wizard
Choose your Wi‑Fi network name (SSID) from the list
Enter the Wi‑Fi password when prompted
Confirm/submit the settings and wait for the printer to show “Connected” or a Wi‑Fi icon
Print a network/configuration page to verify the printer has an IP address (optional)
Install the printer driver on your computer/phone (from the printer’s app or manufacturer website)
In the install screen, select “Wireless/Wi‑Fi” connection
Select the printer from the detected devices list
Test print to confirm the connection
If the printer won’t connect, restart the printer and router, then re-run Wi‑Fi Setup
If supported, use WPS: press the router WPS button, then start WPS on the printer within the time limit
If supported, use the manufacturer app (e.g., HP Smart, Canon PRINT, Epson Connect) and follow on-screen Wi‑Fi pairing steps
If the printer supports a direct Wi‑Fi setup, connect your device to the printer’s temporary Wi‑Fi network and then enter your home Wi‑Fi credentials
