Open WhatsApp

Go to Chats
Tap Chat backup
Tap Back up to Google Drive or Back Up Now
Choose your backup frequency
Select the Google account you want to use
Choose whether to include videos
Make sure you are connected to Wi-Fi or mobile data
Keep enough storage available on your phone and Google Drive
Wait for the backup to complete
