How To Replant Orchid Plants?

Wait until the orchid has finished blooming

Gather fresh orchid potting mix, a clean pot with drainage holes, sterilized scissors, and gloves if desired

Remove the orchid from its current pot

Gently shake off old potting medium from the roots

Trim away dead, mushy, or black roots with sterilized scissors

Keep firm, healthy roots intact

Place a small amount of fresh orchid mix in the new pot

Position the orchid so the base sits at the same level as before

Spread the roots out evenly in the pot

Fill around the roots with fresh orchid mix without packing it tightly

Tap the pot lightly to settle the medium

Water lightly after repotting if the potting mix is dry

Place the orchid in bright, indirect light

Avoid fertilizing for about one to two weeks after repotting

Repot again when the mix breaks down or the roots outgrow the pot
