Mix whole wheat flour, salt, and a little oil in a bowl
Add water gradually and knead into a soft dough
Cover the dough and let it rest for 20 to 30 minutes
Divide the dough into equal portions
Roll one portion into a small circle
Apply oil or ghee on the surface
Fold or pleat the dough into a layered shape
Roll it again gently into a flat round parota
Heat a tawa or skillet on medium heat
Place the parota on the hot tawa
Cook until small bubbles appear
Flip and cook the other side
Apply oil or ghee on both sides while cooking
Press lightly with a spatula until golden brown spots appear
Remove from heat
Repeat with the remaining dough portions
Serve hot with curry, chutney, or yogurt
