Measure the wall area and mark the pegboard layout
Find and mark wall studs
Cut the pegboard to size if needed
Install furring strips or spacers on the wall
Level the strips and secure them to studs
Position the pegboard over the strips
Pre-drill holes in the pegboard
Fasten the pegboard to the strips with screws and washers
Keep the pegboard slightly off the wall for hook clearance
Check that the board is level and firmly attached
Insert pegboard hooks and accessories
Load tools onto the board gradually
