Choose a sunny location with well-drained soil

Plant bulbs in spring after the last frost

Space bulbs 4 to 6 inches apart
Position the pointed end facing up
Cover bulbs with soil and press gently
Water thoroughly after planting
Keep soil evenly moist, not soggy
Stake tall varieties when they begin to grow
Remove spent flowers after blooming
Lift bulbs in fall in cold climates after foliage dies back
Store bulbs in a cool, dry place for replanting
