Gather a clean diaper, wipes, and diaper cream if needed
Wash your hands
Lay the baby on a safe, flat surface
Unfasten the dirty diaper
Use the front of the diaper to wipe away excess mess
Lift the baby’s legs gently and remove the dirty diaper
Clean the diaper area thoroughly with wipes
Wipe from front to back
Let the skin dry
Apply diaper cream if needed
Slide a clean diaper under the baby
Pull the front of the diaper up
Fasten the tabs snugly but not too tight
Check that the diaper fits comfortably
Dispose of the dirty diaper properly
Wash your hands again
