Use over-the-counter ear drops to soften the wax
Put a few drops of warm mineral oil, baby oil, glycerin, or hydrogen peroxide solution in the ear
Tilt your head and let the drops sit for a few minutes
Gently flush the ear with warm water using a bulb syringe
Let the water drain out by tilting your head
Dry the outer ear with a clean towel
Repeat for a few days if needed
Stop if you feel pain, dizziness, or ringing
Do not use cotton swabs, hairpins, or other objects inside the ear
See a doctor if the wax is hard, blocked, or does not come out
See a doctor if you have ear pain, discharge, hearing loss, or a history of ear surgery or ear tubes
