How To Replace Over The Range Microwave?

Turn off power to the microwave at the circuit breaker

Unplug the microwave if the outlet is accessible

Remove the screws securing the microwave to the upper cabinet

Support the microwave from below with a helper

Lift the microwave slightly to disengage it from the wall bracket

Remove the microwave from the mounting bracket

Disconnect the power cord if needed

Remove the old wall bracket if you are replacing it

Check the cabinet and wall for damage

Install the new wall bracket at the correct height and level

Mark and drill any required mounting holes

Secure the new bracket to the wall

Lift the new microwave into position

Hook the back of the microwave onto the wall bracket

Rotate the microwave upward toward the cabinet

Align the top mounting holes with the cabinet

Insert and tighten the mounting bolts or screws

Reconnect the power cord

Restore power at the circuit breaker

Test the microwave for proper operation

Verify the vent fan, light, and turntable work correctly
