Remove contaminated clothing, jewelry, or accessories
Apply a cool, damp compress for 10–15 minutes at a time
Use a fragrance-free moisturizer or petroleum jelly
Apply over-the-counter 1% hydrocortisone cream as directed
Take an oral antihistamine for itching if appropriate
Avoid scratching, rubbing, and hot showers
Keep the area dry and protected from further exposure
Seek medical care if it is severe, spreading, blistering, infected, or not improving quickly
