Preheat oven to 450°F
Mix 2 cups all-purpose flour, 1 tablespoon baking powder, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1 tablespoon sugar
Cut in 1/2 cup cold butter until mixture looks like coarse crumbs
Stir in 3/4 cup milk until just combined
Turn dough onto a floured surface and gently pat to 1-inch thickness
Cut biscuits with a round cutter and place on a baking sheet
Bake biscuits for 12 to 15 minutes until golden brown
Cook 1/2 pound breakfast sausage in a skillet over medium heat
Sprinkle 1/4 cup flour over the cooked sausage and stir
Slowly add 2 cups milk while stirring constantly
Cook until gravy thickens
Season gravy with salt and black pepper
Split biscuits and spoon gravy over the top
