Place the clay piece on a ceramic tile, glass dish, or metal baking tray
Use parchment paper or aluminum foil if needed to protect the surface
Bake for the time recommended based on the thickness of the piece
Keep the oven temperature accurate; do not exceed the recommended temperature
Use an oven thermometer if possible
Bake in a well-ventilated area
Avoid microwaving Sculpey clay
Let the piece cool completely before handling
Sand, paint, or seal only after the clay has fully cooled
