How to Blanch and Freeze Green Beans?

Wash green beans thoroughly

Trim the ends

Cut into desired lengths if needed

Bring a large pot of water to a boil

Prepare a large bowl of ice water

Add green beans to the boiling water

Blanch for 2 to 3 minutes

Drain the green beans immediately

Transfer them to the ice water

Cool for 2 to 3 minutes

Drain well

Pat dry completely

Spread in a single layer on a baking sheet

Freeze until firm

Transfer to freezer bags or airtight containers

Remove as much air as possible

Label with the date

Store in the freezer
