Open the Messages app
Open the conversation from the sender you want to block
Tap the contact name or number at the top
Tap Info or Details
Tap Block this Caller or Block Contact
Confirm the block
On iPhone, open Settings
Tap Messages
Tap Blocked Contacts
Tap Add New
Select the contact to block
On Android, open the Messages app
Open the conversation from the sender you want to block
Tap the three-dot menu
Tap Block number or Block contact
Confirm the block
On Android, open the Phone app
Tap Recents or Contacts
Select the number or contact
Tap Block or Report spam
Confirm the block
Use your carrier’s spam-blocking tools
Enable spam filtering in your messaging app
Delete and report unwanted messages
Unblock the contact later from Blocked Contacts if needed
