How To Boil An Egg?

Place eggs in a single layer in a saucepan.

Add enough cold water to cover the eggs by about 1 inch (2–3 cm).

Set the pan over medium-high heat until the water reaches a rolling boil.

Reduce heat to maintain a gentle boil.

Start timing:

Soft-boiled: 6–7 minutes

Medium-boiled: 8–9 minutes

Hard-boiled: 10–12 minutes

Transfer eggs to an ice bath or run under cold water for 1–2 minutes to stop cooking.

Peel under cold running water.
