How To Blanch Green Beans?

Bring a large pot of water to a rolling boil

Prepare a bowl of ice water

Trim green beans

Add green beans to boiling water

Blanch for 2–4 minutes, depending on thickness

Transfer green beans to the ice water immediately

Cool until completely chilled, about 1–2 minutes

Drain well and pat dry

Use immediately, or store in the refrigerator up to 3–5 days, or freeze after drying thoroughly
