Wash your hands
Prepare the bottle and nipple
Use breast milk or formula as directed
Check the milk temperature
Hold the baby in a semi-upright position
Support the baby’s head and neck
Touch the nipple to the baby’s lips
Let the baby latch onto the nipple
Keep the bottle tilted so the nipple stays filled with milk
Feed slowly and pause often
Burp the baby during and after feeding
Watch for signs the baby is full
Stop feeding when the baby is done
Discard any leftover milk after the feeding
Clean the bottle and nipple after use
