Apply a small amount of glove conditioner or shaving cream to the leather
Work the conditioner into the pocket, web, and hinge areas
Place a baseball or softball in the pocket
Fold the glove around the ball
Wrap the glove tightly with rubber bands, string, or a belt
Leave the glove in a warm, dry place overnight
Use a glove mallet or soft ball to pound the pocket and flex points before storing it
Repeat flexing the glove by hand several times before wrapping it
Put a ball in the pocket and store the glove under a mattress or with light weight on top
Avoid soaking the glove in water or heating it in an oven or microwave
Unwrap the glove in the morning and work the leather by hand
Catch and throw with the glove as soon as possible to finish the break-in
