Choose healthy adult bettas, ideally 4–12 months old
Use one male and one female for breeding
Condition both fish for 1–2 weeks with high-quality live or frozen foods
Prepare a separate breeding tank with warm, shallow water
Keep the water temperature around 78–82°F
Use gentle filtration or no filter
Add hiding places and floating plants
Place the male in the breeding tank first
Introduce the female in a separate container or divider
Watch for the male to build a bubble nest
Release the female only when both fish show readiness
Observe spawning and egg collection by the male
Remove the female after spawning is complete
Leave the male to guard the eggs
Remove the male after the fry become free-swimming
Feed fry infusoria or liquid fry food at first
Gradually switch fry to baby brine shrimp or microworms
Perform small, careful water changes
Separate and grow out fry as they mature
Keep only healthy fish for future breeding
Avoid breeding weak, sick, or closely related fish
