Use a CD-R disc (for data you want to keep)
Choose burning software (e.g., Windows Media Player, Nero, ImgBurn, or your OS’s built-in burner)
Insert a blank CD-R into the drive
Open the burning software
Select the burn type:
Data CD for files
Audio CD for playable music in most CD players
Create/select the project:
For data: add files/folders to the compilation
For audio: add audio tracks (typically MP3/WAV/AAC, depending on the software)
Set disc format/options:
Data: file system (ISO 9660/UDF as supported)
Audio: finalize/close the session as supported
Set burn speed (use a moderate speed if you have issues)
Choose the destination drive (your CD burner)
Click Burn/Start
Wait for the process to complete
Verify the disc if the software offers “Verify” or “Test write”
Eject the disc after it finishes and label it
