Fill the gas tank completely and reset the trip odometer
Drive normally until you need to refuel
Record the miles driven from the trip odometer
Record the gallons of gas used to refill the tank
Divide miles driven by gallons used
Use the formula: MPG = Miles Driven ÷ Gallons Used
Example: 300 miles ÷ 10 gallons = 30 MPG
