Park on a flat, safe surface and turn on the hazard lights
Apply the parking brake
Put the vehicle in park or in gear
Place wheel chocks behind the opposite wheels
Remove the wheel cover or hubcap if needed
Loosen the lug nuts slightly before lifting the vehicle
Position the jack at the correct lifting point
Raise the vehicle until the tyre is off the ground
Fully remove the lug nuts
Remove the wheel
Align the spare or replacement tyre with the wheel bolts
Fit the wheel onto the hub
Hand-tighten the lug nuts
Lower the vehicle until the tyre touches the ground
Tighten the lug nuts in a crisscross pattern
Fully lower the vehicle
Tighten the lug nuts again to the correct torque
Refit the wheel cover or hubcap if applicable
Check tyre pressure
Stow the tools and old tyre
Drive carefully and recheck the lug nuts after a short distance
