Log in to your my Social Security account at ssa.gov
Select the option to update your contact information
Enter your new mailing address
Review and submit the change
Call Social Security at 1-800-772-1213 if you cannot update it online
Visit your local Social Security office if needed
Update your address with the U.S. Postal Service separately if you want mail forwarded
Make sure your direct deposit information is current if you receive benefits
Keep a copy of any confirmation for your records
