Turn off the car and remove the key
Park in a well-ventilated area
Put the charger on a stable, dry surface
Check that the charger is set to the correct battery type and voltage
Identify the battery terminals
Connect the red clamp to the positive terminal
Connect the black clamp to the negative terminal or a grounded metal point if recommended
Plug in and turn on the charger
Set the charging rate if needed
Monitor the charging process
Stop charging when the battery is fully charged
Turn off and unplug the charger
Remove the black clamp first
Remove the red clamp second
Reinstall any battery covers and close the hood
Start the car to confirm the battery is charged
