Turn off the ignition and remove the key
Wear safety gloves and eye protection
Locate the battery terminals
Identify the positive terminal marked with a plus sign
Identify the negative terminal marked with a minus sign
Connect the positive cable to the positive terminal first
Tighten the positive terminal clamp securely
Connect the negative cable to the negative terminal second
Tighten the negative terminal clamp securely
Check that both connections are firm and clean
Close the hood and start the car
