Check whether your laptop supports USB-C charging
Use a phone charger with USB-C Power Delivery if possible
Make sure the charger wattage meets or exceeds the laptop’s minimum charging requirement
Use a USB-C to USB-C cable rated for charging
Plug the charger into the laptop’s USB-C charging port
If the laptop does not charge, try a higher-wattage USB-C charger
Avoid using low-wattage phone chargers for laptops that need more power
Do not use a phone charger with a non-USB-C laptop unless you have a compatible adapter and the laptop supports charging that way
Stop if the charger, cable, or laptop becomes unusually hot
Use the laptop’s original charger whenever possible
