Make sure the battery is fully charged
Turn the ignition key to the start position and listen for a click
Check for power at the solenoid’s battery terminal with a multimeter
Check for power at the solenoid’s control terminal while the key is in start
Verify the solenoid has a good ground connection
Test continuity across the solenoid terminals when activated
Jump the solenoid terminals briefly with an insulated tool to see if the starter engages
Inspect the solenoid wires, connectors, and terminals for corrosion or looseness
Check for voltage drop across the solenoid during cranking
Replace the solenoid if it clicks but does not pass power to the starter
