Disconnect the negative battery terminal
Locate the crankshaft position sensor
Raise and support the vehicle if needed
Remove any covers, splash shields, or intake parts blocking access
Unplug the electrical connector from the sensor
Remove the retaining bolt or fastener
Gently twist and pull the sensor out of the engine block or housing
Remove any O-ring or seal if present
Inspect the mounting area for debris or damage
Keep the sensor opening covered if installation is not immediate
