If you quote a single line, use quotation marks around the line
If you quote two or more lines, use a block quote
In the Works Cited entry, list the poet’s last name, first name
Put the poem title in quotation marks
Italicize the title of the book, anthology, or website where the poem appears
Include the editor’s name if the poem is in an anthology
Include the publication information for the book, anthology, or website
Include the page numbers if the poem appears in a print source
Include the URL if the poem is online
If the poem has line numbers, use them in the in-text citation
If the poem does not have line numbers, use the page number instead
Format the Works Cited entry like this: Last Name, First Name. “Title of Poem.” Title of Container, edited by Editor Name, Publisher, Year, page range.
