Use the author’s last name in parentheses: (Smith)
If there are two authors, use both last names: (Smith and Jones)
If there are three or more authors, use the first author’s last name followed by et al.: (Smith et al.)
If no author is listed, use a shortened version of the website title in quotation marks: (“Website Title”)
If the website title is long, shorten it to the first few words: (“Shortened Title”)
If the page has no page numbers, omit page numbers from the citation
If the website is part of a larger work, cite the relevant author or title as shown on the page
Place the citation before the period at the end of the sentence
If the author’s name is mentioned in the sentence, include only the page title or omit the parenthetical citation if not needed
Use the exact form of the name or title as it appears in the Works Cited entry
