Unplug the washer
Remove all laundry from the drum
Wipe the door, gasket, and detergent drawer with a damp cloth
Clean the detergent dispenser and any removable parts
Run a hot empty cycle with washer cleaner or white vinegar
Add baking soda to the drum if needed
Scrub any visible residue or mold with a soft brush
Clean the drain pump filter if your washer has one
Wipe the exterior with a mild soap solution
Leave the door and detergent drawer open to dry
Repeat monthly or as needed
