How To Clean An Oven?

Turn off the oven and let it cool completely

Remove oven racks and any loose debris

Mix baking soda and water into a thick paste (for most surfaces)

Spread the baking soda paste over the inside surfaces (avoid heating elements if they are exposed)

Cover stubborn spots with a thicker layer of paste

Let the paste sit for 6–12 hours (or overnight)

Wipe away the paste with a damp cloth

Remove remaining residue with a plastic scraper or non-scratch sponge

Rinse with a clean damp cloth and wipe dry

Clean the oven door glass with a glass-safe cleaner or a vinegar-water solution

For grease-heavy areas, spray vinegar-water lightly after wiping (it should fizz slightly), then wipe clean

Clean the heating elements carefully with a damp cloth (do not soak)

Clean the racks separately by soaking in hot water with dish soap (and baking soda if needed) for 1–4 hours

Scrub racks with a non-scratch pad, rinse, and dry completely

For burnt-on spots that won’t lift, apply fresh baking soda paste and repeat the process

Dry all surfaces thoroughly before turning the oven back on

Optional: run the oven at a low temperature (about 250°F/120°C) for 10–15 minutes to help evaporate any remaining moisture
