Blot up as much urine as possible with paper towels or a clean cloth
Remove all bedding and wash it separately
Mix equal parts white vinegar and water in a spray bottle
Lightly spray the affected area without soaking the mattress
Blot again with a clean towel
Sprinkle baking soda over the damp area
Let the baking soda sit until completely dry
Vacuum up the dried baking soda
If odor remains, repeat the vinegar and baking soda process
Use an enzyme cleaner made for pet urine if needed
Allow the mattress to air dry completely before putting bedding back on
Place the mattress in a well-ventilated area or use a fan to speed drying
Avoid using heat until the stain and smell are fully gone
Use a waterproof mattress protector to prevent future accidents
