Remove the shower head (if detachable) or loosen it enough to access the face and spray holes
Fill a bowl or plastic bag with white vinegar
Soak the shower head (or cover the shower head face with the vinegar-soaked bag) for 30–60 minutes
For heavy buildup, soak longer or repeat the soak
Scrub mineral deposits around the spray holes with a soft toothbrush or small brush
Use a pin, toothpick, or needle to clear clogged nozzles if needed
Rinse thoroughly with hot water
Run the shower for 1–2 minutes to flush loosened debris
Wipe the shower head with a clean cloth to remove residue
Reattach the shower head and ensure it is sealed properly
For regular maintenance, wipe the shower head weekly and run vinegar through monthly (or as needed)
For non-removable shower heads, wrap the face with vinegar-soaked cloths or a vinegar bag and secure with a rubber band or tape, then soak 30–60 minutes
If stains or grime persist, mix baking soda with a small amount of water to form a paste, apply briefly, scrub gently, then rinse thoroughly
Do not use abrasive pads or harsh chemicals on finishes (chrome, brass, nickel, or plated surfaces)
Dry the shower head after cleaning to reduce water spots
