Unplug the washing machine
Remove any clothes from the drum
Wear gloves and open windows for ventilation
Remove and wash the detergent drawer with hot water and soap
Clean the rubber door seal with a cloth and white vinegar or bleach solution
Wipe the drum, door, and inside edges with a disinfecting solution
Run an empty hot cycle with bleach or a washing machine cleaner
Run an extra rinse cycle to remove residue
Clean the filter and drain pump area if accessible
Leave the door and detergent drawer open to dry completely
Wipe the seal and drum dry after each use
Repeat cleaning regularly to prevent mold buildup
