Turn on the disposal briefly
Cut a lemon or lime into small pieces
Run the citrus pieces through the disposal
Flush with cold water for 30 seconds
Pour baking soda into the disposal
Add white vinegar
Let the mixture sit for a few minutes
Rinse with cold water
Scrub the rubber splash guard with a brush and soapy water
Wipe the sink flange and drain opening
Restore power to the disposal
Run cold water and operate the disposal briefly to finish
