Put on rubber gloves
Remove excess water from the bowl if needed
Use a plunger to create a tight seal over the drain
Plunge firmly and repeatedly
Flush to check if the clog is cleared
Use a toilet auger if plunging does not work
Insert the auger into the drain and turn the handle
Break up or pull out the blockage
Flush again to test the drain
Repeat plunging or augering if needed
Use hot water and dish soap if the clog is minor
Pour the mixture into the bowl and wait
Avoid using chemical drain cleaners
Call a plumber if the clog remains stuck
